Obituary

Anna Joy Teachman went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Anna and her father were tragically killed in an automobile accident near Tulsa, Oklahoma at the tail end of a family vacation.

Anna was born to Michael and Lori Teachman as the oldest of two girls. She was a homeschool student and graduated in 2017. Anna also attended Global Connections as part of the band program. For the 2017-2018 calendar year Anna was the Washington State Dairy Ambassador and was planning to attend college at Oklahoma State University in the fall of 2018.

First and foremost, Anna loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ and desired to serve Him in any way she could as His ambassador. She was gifted in many ways and used her gifts to glorify Christ. We saw this in the following: Anna was an accomplished musician playing both the piano and trombone. Anna went to state in 2016 for piano and won awards for her piano playing at the national level. Anna was also a part of the Cantatè Homeschool Choir and earned her Master Singer certificate. In addition to her love for music, she also loved animals, and was involved with Guide Dogs and training them so they could serve others. She always wanted to be with the cows whenever she went to the fairs and this led her to her lifelong passion for agriculture and dairy. The result being a desire to be and eventually become the King-Pierce Dairy Ambassador for 2016-17 as well as the Washington State Dairy Ambassador for 2017-18, a role that she cherished.

Anna is survived by mother Lori; sister Kara; grandmothers Carol Teachman and Gladys Sherlock, great uncle Norman Teachman; aunts Diane (Steve) Fairbanks, Sandra (David) Knapp, Karen Sherlock; uncle Greg Sherlock, and several cousins.

There will be a private family graveside service in Ten Mile Cemetery, Lynden. The memorial service will be Sunday, July 29th at 3 p.m. in Overlake Christian Church, 9900 Willows Rd NE, Redmond, WA 98052.

In lieu of flowers, Anna's family has identified two non-profits Anna supported which are accepting memorial gifts.
