Anne Elizabeth Newmark Johnson, 88, entered eternal rest on February 8, 2024. Anne was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 23, 1935 to Eva Pearl Nelson Newmark and Leslie Raymond Newmark. She graduated from Central High School, Tulsa, OK in 1953. She attended Tulsa University and joined Chi Omega sorority and was a member for 67 years. Anne and Charles Dwight Johnson, Jr. (Skip) went to junior and senior high school together. It was at TU that Anne and Skip began a courtship and married on June 24, 1955 in Tulsa at University United Methodist Church. They were inseparable for 69 years. Anne was able to stay at home and shepherded her children into junior and senior high at which time she began working at Skelly Oil Company, then Getty Oil and eventually Texaco Oil company. After 20 years Anne retired as Senior Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Retail Marketing at Texaco Oil. Anne was an active supporter of her children's activities from Girl Scouts, gymnastics, cheerleading, baseball league and high-school activities. Skip and Anne enjoyed square dancing with the Buckaroos and Tulstar clubs, bowling, Tulsa University sports, and weekend evenings in the neighborhood playing cards and visiting. Anne was frequently the family organizer for holidays, birthdays and wedding showers. She and Skip attended Christ United Methodist Church in Tulsa for over 30 years. Anne and Skip have been dedicated and active residents of Trinity Woods since 2012.
Anne is preceded in death by her devoted husband Charles (Skip) D. Johnson, Jr. and together, they lovingly raised two children Lori Anne Johnson Beasley (deceased husband Stewart R.) and Charles (Chuck) Dwight Johnson III (wife Lynette "Lynnie" Arnold Johnson). They were outstanding models in the lives of their 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren Stewart R. Beasley, III and Saskia, daughters Alexina, Althea Wilder and Caisley Cato; Amanda Lynn Indermill and son Mason Cole; Emory Breene Beasley and son William Lucas; Ryan Charles Johnson (wife Sarah) and children Owen Michael and Harper Ray; and Evan Cole Newmark Beasley. Anne is also survived by her sister Susan Newmark Dage. She will be sorely missed by a multitude of family members and friends.
