Arthur Andrew "Andy" Johnson, Jr., a lifelong Tulsan and beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 31, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born in Tulsa on November 11, 1941, Andy grew up in midtown, attending Barnard Elementary and Edison High School, where he graduated in 1960 and was a proud member of the Lancers. He went on to Oklahoma State University, joining the Kappa Alpha Order and serving as Rush Chairman. Later in life, he was honored with a degree from OSU's School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in recognition of his contributions to the travel industry.

Andy was the former owner of World Travel Service, a family business founded by his parents in 1959. Under his leadership, it became one of the top travel agencies in the country and was recognized by American Airlines as one of its "100 Wagons." He took great pride in the company's legacy and impact on Tulsa's business community.

A man of many interests, Andy was a longtime member of Asbury United Methodist Church and held memberships at Southern Hills Country Club, Cedar Ridge Country Club, Summit Club, Petroleum Club, Arrowhead Yacht Club, and Cherokee Yacht Club. He especially cherished his time at Grand Lake, Bonita Springs and Palm Desert.

Above all, Andy loved his family. He is survived by his children, Brad Johnson and Diane Henderson (Brian), and his grandchildren, Andrew Henderson (Camryn) and Gracie Henderson, whom he lovingly referred to as his two best friends.

Andy was a friend to many, through his love for OSU football, his business relationships, and his lifelong gift for maintaining meaningful connections. He had a sharp mind and a legendary gin rummy game, enjoying weekly matches with friends. He especially valued staying connected with others, including monthly gatherings with his Edison classmates—fondly known as the Bald Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Andrew "Coach" Johnson, Sr., and Betty Corder Johnson, and by his sister, Helene Peard. He is also remembered with love by his brother Bennett, niece Catherine Peters, nephew Garrett Peard, and many cousins across the country.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Stanley's Funeral Home, 3959 East 31st Street.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Asbury Chapel, 6767 South Mingo Road.
