Barbara Breneman LaBenske departed this earth June 28, 2022. She was born May 4, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to A. L. and Irene Breneman.

Barbara graduated from Tulsa Central High School. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1950 where she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She received a BFA degree in Fine Arts with a major in Interior Design. On October 1, 1950, she married Tom J. LaBenske. They were married 63 years, until his death in 2014.

In 1978, they moved to Dallas, Texas where Barbara was president of Prestonwood Newcomers Club. Tom took early retirement and in 1986 they moved back to Tulsa.  Barbara was a docent with the Gillies at Gilcrease Museum and served as their president. She was also a member of PEO, DAR and various other organizations. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Tom, by her sister Carole Breneman Phillips, her parents and her son, Wade Thomas LaBenske. She is survived by her daughter Carole LaBenske Alfonso (George) and four grandchildren, Kathryn and Ross LaBenske and Madeline and Jackson Alfonso.

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Friends who want to honor her may donate to the Helping Hand Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 709 S. Boston Ave. Tulsa, OK 74119
