Betty Joyce Cole, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 20, 2023, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma after a long battle with cancer.

Betty was born in Swords Creek, Virginia to James and Lavenia Whited on May 21, 1935.  She grew up in Virginia and went to school at Honaker High School.  She married James Ernest Cole on February 21st, 1956, in Tazewell County Virginia.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband James Ernest Cole, her parents, James and Lavenia Whited, her brothers, David Whited, JP Whited, Randy Whited and her sisters, Donna Plaster and Anita Ray.

Betty was a very kind and loving person to everyone she came in contact with whether it be family, friends, or new acquaintances.  She had a very gentle way about her as she was quick to give everyone she met a big hug and always had something nice to say.  She made everyone who entered her house feel like they were part of the family.  She also expressed her love through cooking as she was famous for her biscuits and gravy, homemade butterhorn rolls, and chocolate cake.  She was deeply rooted in her faith and love for Jesus Christ and lived a life that was a great example to everyone about how to act and how to love people well.  She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her as she truly was a bright light that made the world a better place during her time on this earth.

A celebration of life will be held at Stanley Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25th at 3 PM.  All arrangements are by Stanley Funeral Services.  Address for the funeral is 5959 E. 31st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135.
