Obituary

Billy Ray Jaggers born on December 1, 1930 to William H and Ruth Alice Jaggers, passed away on August 25, 2022.   Billy graduated Will Rogers High School in 1949, obtained an engineering degree at Oklahoma A&M (State) and served in the Army during the Korean war.   He attended the Antiaircraft Artillery and Guided Missile school in Fort Bliss Texas and was later stationed with battery B of the 425 th AAA at Fort Polk, Louisiana, as a Radar Fire Control Specialist.  Billy was honorably discharged in 1962.  On December 21, 1962, he married Joan L. Alix (pronounced Jo Ann)  in Tulsa.  Billy and Joan were married for 40 years until Joan's passing in 2003.  Billy primarily worked in the drafting, engineering and tool design field during his civilian life which included Douglas Aircraft, Brooks Flame Spray, WC Norris, Big Five Manufacturing, Reibert Steel, Rockwell International, McDonnell Douglas and Boeing.  He was proud to be involved in the design and manufacturing of components of the Space Shuttle program while at McDonnell Douglas and creating field installation instructions for the F4 fighter missile launching system.  Bill enjoyed woodworking, building/fixing things, and coaching and serving his son's little league baseball organization (CETBO) as league president.   During his retirement years he enjoyed spending his time with Joan and working on their project of building a dwelling on the 40 acres in Beggs OK.   He also was always willing to help his sons with their projects.  He loved watching "Survivor" and being actively  involved with his Will Rogers 49er reunion group.    He looked forward to the luncheons and gatherings to meet with his longtime friends.  After Joan had passed, he discovered his cooking skills especially with the help of "George Foreman", but he seemed to prefer going out to eat.   For almost any meal,  If he had the option he would have preferred to start with the dessert, he loved his desserts.   Most who came in contact with Billy described him as "that sweet man".    Billy is survived by his sons , Warren Jaggers and wife, Tammy, William Jaggers and Wayne Jaggers and wife Darcy; granddaughter Jennifer Jaggers all of Tulsa.
