Camellia Maxine McKenzie

Born in Tulsa Oklahoma on January 11, 1941 to Sara Douglass McKenzie and James Cass McKenzie. The oldest sister to 7 siblings, Richard, John, Andy and Robert McKenzie.

Kathy Fitzgibbon and Jamie McCullough, and greeted at the gates of heaven this week by her 7th sibling, brother Ronald McKenzie, her mom, dad, grandparents and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Along with her siblings, Camellia  is survived by  numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and family that loved here and she loved dearly.

Camellia attended Whittier Elementary, Cleveland Junior High, Will  Rogers High school, and received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Tulsa. Camellia worked in Tulsa Public Schools for 38 years holding the titles of teacher, counselor, Dean, attendance Coordinator and truancy officer for the District.

A long time devoted member of College Hill Presbyterian Church, she was active as a church deacon, a Synod Youth counselor, and Mission bus trips counselor to many students. Her love of God, teaching, education, adventure and family was evident in every thing she did. She lived life to the fullest with dedication, devotion and love  and taught us all to do the same.

Camellia passed peacefully from our world on May 16, 2024 to continue her adventures, guidance and love over us all now from the glory of heavens beauty and in the arms of her angels.

A Celebration of life service will be held at College Hill Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.
