Edward Erskin Grove, longtime Tulsa resident, passed from this life on Monday evening, November 19, 2018 at the age of 82.  He was born in Amarillo, Texas on May 22, 1936 to Philetus A. and Estella (Keeter) Grove.  Edward was raised in Amarillo; he graduated from Amarillo High School and Amarillo Junior College. He excelled in track and field at Amarillo College coming in second in the nation in the two-mile race while also participating in other intervarsity sports. Texas Tech University recruited Ed to Lubbock on a track scholarship.  While at Texas Tech, Edward married his college sweetheart and fellow Amarillo native, Jean Cleek.  Ed and Jean moved to Houston for his first position at NASA.  Ed and Jean had three children while he was completing his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Houston.  Ed was active in his community during this time:  he was a deacon at the First Christian Church of Houston, he coached his son's football team, assisted with Little League baseball, Cub Scout activities, and attended PTA.   After Jean's death, he moved to Tulsa in 1970, shifting gears and applying his mechanical engineering heat transfer knowledge to the oil and gas industry. Ed took early retirement from John Zinc in 1996 and began engineering consulting until fully retiring in 2009.  He married Carolyn Lee McQueen on March 17, 2006 at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church. Ed and Carolyn were active members of their community, caring for neighbors, fellow church members, and loving and serving residents at University Village Retirement Community daily for many years. They enjoyed gardening together; raising roses and delivering them to others was their delight. They shared a love of classical music and were long-term supporters of Tulsa's Signature Symphony. Ed adopted Carolyn's passion for gospel music and quickly became a knowledgeable historian of that genre. Ed was a quick, constant learner, fascinated with science and all things mechanical.  Music, gardening, community service, sports, and caring for others defined their life together.

Carolyn Lee (McQueen) Grove was born April 11, 1938 in Baton Rouge, LA to James Milton and Pauline (Bonner) McQueen, Jr.  Carolyn passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the age of 80. She was raised and received her education in Baton Rouge, graduating high school there.  She first attended Louisiana State University before transferring to "Ole Miss" where she finished her bachelor's degree in Psychology.  She worked in the mental health field in Atlanta, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa where she was the Executive Director of the Mental Health Association.  Carolyn and Edward Grove were united in marriage on March 17, 2006 in the chapel of the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church.  Carolyn valued giving back to the community in which she lived.  Her volunteerism included St Francis Hospital where she assisted at Healthzone for 35 years, Gilcrease Museum "Gillie", Volunteer Associates of Tulsa Psychiatric Center, Parkside Community Psychiatric Services and Hospital, assisted in the founding of Brush Creek Bazaar supporting Brush Creek Youth Ranch, Board of Directors of the Tulsa Zoo through the Leadership Tulsa program, Bridge Clubs, Garden Clubs, Animal Aid, Salvation Army, Signature SymphonyTulsa, and Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian church activities. Carolyn was an avid supporter of many organizations. Among those closest to her heart were In His Image, Blue Star Mothers, Literacy & Evangelism International, Tulsa Botanical Garden, Tulsa Day Center, St. Joseph's Indian School, Signature Symphony, The Navigators, Teen Challenge, Salvation Army, and Tulsa Humane Society.

Carolyn is survived by her brother James Milton McQueen, III and wife Brenda of Baton Rouge, LA; a god–daughter Mayann Stroup of Baton Rouge; a niece by marriage, Anne McQueen of New Orleans; a nephew John McQueen of New Orleans, LA, and two great nieces Peyton and Lauren.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents as well as husband Edward.  Those who survive Edward are his two daughters Gwen Chartom of Cedar City, Utah and Carrie Grove of Tulsa.
