Charlotte Johnston Donnell, shuffled off her mortal coil to join her husband and parents in devout rest with Our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 7th, 2021, at the age of 94.  Charlotte Johnston Donnell, born Bartlesville, OK, November, 19, 1926.

  1. 4-7-21 to Mildred Haitt Johnston and father James Coffman Johnston.

A graduate of Bartlesville College High School class of '44, and a graduate of Oklahoma A and M with a Bachelors in Music: Charlotte married Franklin D. Donnell on June 10, 1947 and they lived in Bartlesville, OK, until 1971, when the family transferred to Tulsa, Ok with the re- location of the Cities Service Oil Company.

Throughout her life, Charlotte shared her musical talents as a private Voice teacher, TJC Adjunct Vocal Music teacher,  and small church interim choir director for the First Church of Christ Scientists and the United Brethren, both of Bartlesville, Ok., the church at 1027 N. Harvard, Tulsa, OK  and others.  A member of S.A.I. Fraternity, Oklahoma Music Teachers Association and Hyechka Club. Charlotte was a Violist in the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra, a Soprano in the choirs of the First Presbyterian Church, of Bartlesville, St. Andrews, John Knox and College Hill Presbyterian Churches, of Tulsa, a docent for Philbrook Museum and a Girl Scout Leader, Den Mother, a children's church choir leader, Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher, Da Capo Music club leader, and a Musical Research Society member, in Bartlesville.

A very loving and involved mother, Charlotte treated everyone she met with dignity, respect and was vocal ally of women and children. As a Tulsan, Charlotte enjoyed donating to the emergency infant center and drove for meals on wheels in the Kendall Whittier neighborhood for over ten years. Charlotte was a voracious reader and intellectual but eventually lost her vision to macular degeneration. Charlotte is survived by her children, David F Donnell and Dorinda Donnell, her brother Richard Franklin Johnston, nephew Carl Johnston and niece Amy Richardson of Texas, and additional cousins.
