Curtis Eugene Roberson, SR.
On July 13, 1954, a bouncing baby boy was born to Benjamin Franklin SR. and Tillye Jean Brown-Roberson in Bakersfield, CA. He was the second eldest child of 8 children.
Curtis received his early education in Bakersfield, CA. He moved to Los Angeles, CA with his family in 1966 where he continued his education. He graduated early with honors in 1972 from Locke High School in Los Angeles, CA.
Curtis worked for Big Ed's Furniture in Los Angeles. He worked for Van Nuys High School for many years. Later worked for Brand Scaffolding of Long Beach. Then Burgundy Place Assisted Living in Tulsa, OK until his health failed.
Curtis married his first wife Andrena Craig in August'1978. He adopted a beautiful baby girl, Kyita Baker-Roberson. They were later blessed with 1 son, Curtis Eugene Roberson, Jr.
He married second wife Oliva Bell. To this union five children were born. three sons, Jovan Roberson, Jamal Roberson of Tulsa, OK, and Jamel Roberson of Tulsa, OK; Two daughters Tiffany Roberson- Wells of Tulsa, OK and Quanisha Roberson of Tulsa, OK. He had thirteen grandchildren.
Curt had the biggest heart. Always loving and giving to anyone in need. He never met a stranger. He was deeply loved by family and friends alike. To know him is to LOVE him! He loved old school music. Loved to dance and was always the life of the party/ family gatherings! He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He leaves to mourn his wife Olivia, children, and grandchildren of Tulsa, OK; His loving mother Tillye Jean Wilson of Tulsa, OK. 2 brothers, Harold Roberson and Ricky Harris of Tulsa, OK. Five sisters, Maryland Roberson- Tinsley of Vallejo, CA; Deborah Gay of Sacramento, CA, Sondra Claibourn of Grand Forks, ND; Carol Harris of Bakersfield, CA; and Patricia Hurd of San Antonio, TX; Two aunts Faye Parkerson of Los Angeles, CA; Demetria Brown of Tulsa, OK, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He had two Bonus brothers, Forrest McKeithen, Larry Cooper aka Lala; Brother in-laws, William Sellers, Sr; Emile P. Hurd, and Curtis McKnight.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Calvin & Lessie Brown; paternal grandparents Manuel and Bertha Roberson; Father Benjamin Franklin Roberson, Sr.; Stepfather Willie Wilson, Jr; son Jovan Roberson; brother Benjamin F. Roberson, Jr; sister LaTonya Gay; Special brother James Rhodes aka Jimmy, and sister Rhonda Hunt.
