Don Rowland went home to the Lord in the early morning hours of September 15, 2022.

Don, the youngest of nine children, was born July 4, 1938, in Bethel, OK to Lillian and William Frank Rowland. The family moved to Haskell, OK in 1947. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1954 and went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University in 1958. He spent his entire career in the grocery business from his very first job as a young boy in the local grocery in Haskell until he sold his last grocery store and retired. During the prime of his career, Don owned the Buy For Less grocery stores in Tulsa, Sand Springs, and Ponca City. He was a master merchandiser, and he built a very successful business by making integrity and customer service his most important priorities. Don was an avid golfer and leaves behind many friends at Ponca City Country Club. He also loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.

While the family is so saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is now home in heaven. We are so grateful for the many years we had with him and his enduring example to us all. His lessons in kindness, honesty, integrity, and generosity will continue to be passed down through the generations of our family. His impact on us is immeasurable and we will dearly miss his wisdom and his wry sense of humor.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and all his brothers and sisters as well as his wife, June, and his grandson Brandon. He is survived by his children Don Jr. and wife Debbie and daughter Kristy and husband Tim, his companion Christy Johnson, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Church, 5145 E 101st ST, Tulsa, OK on Tuesday, September 27 at 11:00.
