Obituary

Earle was born on June 14, 1947, to Earle Horton, Jr., and Yvonne "Marie" Horton in Tulsa, OK.  Earle passed from this life on December 27, 2023, at the age of 76 years.

Earle is a 1965 graduate of Central High School in Tulsa, OK.  He served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant (E-5) from 1966 to 1974.  Earle attended the Defense Language Institute of Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, and the Presidio of Monterey, in Monterey, CA.  Throughout his military career, he served as Interpreter, Interrogator, and Cryptographer fluent in Russian and North Vietnamese languages while receiving numerous service awards and medals.

Earle had a long career in retail sales and management such as: Dolly Madison, Auto Sales/Finance, Snap-On Tools, and C.R. Anthony Co.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed by MetLife Insurance as a Customer Service Consultant.  His successful career was a testimony to his outstanding customer service skills and personable style.

Earle was a world traveler visiting thirty-nine countries and he was always willing to share stories of the things he had seen and experienced.  His interests included being an avid reader, gardening, gourmet cooking, music, art, golf, and tennis.  Speaking of cooking, Earle was the "star" of MetLife Employee Food Days!  His peers were always anxious to see what fancy and scrumptious dish he would bring and display beautifully!

Earle is survived by his son: Chris Horton of Osage City, KS; and grandson: Christopher Horton of Salina, KS; his siblings: Kent Horton of Owasso, OK; Mindie Eason and husband, Jim of Tulsa, OK; Lisa Riddle and husband, Ray of Bristow; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Earle is preceded in death by his parents: Earle and Marie Horton.
