Eleanor "Elaine" Hadley, affectionately known by her family as "Aunt Myrtle," passed into eternal rest on June 22, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 93. Born on August 13, 1931, in Leon, Kansas, to William E. and Grace M. Hadley (Pickrell), Elaine lived a life marked by unwavering faith, selfless service, and deep love for her family.
Elaine dedicated over 50 years of her life to serving others as a Registered Nurse, touching countless lives with her compassion and skill at St. Francis and St. John hospitals in Tulsa. Her commitment to healing was a testament to her deep Catholic faith, which guided her every action and inspired those around her.
A devout Catholic, Elaine's faith in God and the Catholic Church was the cornerstone of her life. Her spiritual devotion guided her actions and inspired those around her, offering a beacon of light through her prayers and steadfast belief. She found joy in her faith community, where she was a cherished member and a source of strength for others.
Elaine's love for her family was boundless. She shared a special bond with her nephews, Scott Hadley (Laura) of Gulf Shores, AL, and James Hadley (Laurie) of Longwood, FL, as well as her great-nephews, Matt Hadley of Wichita, KS, Blake Hadley of Hays, KS, Ryan Hadley of Longwood, FL, and her great-niece, Jennifer Silsby (Eric) of Longwood, FL. She took particular delight in her great, great-nephew, Owen Silsby, also of Longwood, FL. Her surviving brother, Robert E. Hadley (Alice) of Tulsa, OK, will forever cherish her memory. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Grace M. Hadley, and her infant brother, Billy Hadley.
She brought warmth, laughter, and love to every gathering. Aunt Myrtle's love for her family was boundless. She cherished hosting gatherings at her home on Grand Lake, Oklahoma, where holidays were filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished memories. These moments brought together generations of her family, creating traditions that will live on in their hearts. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and service will live on in all who knew her.
To celebrate Elaine's life, a Rosary will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, @ 7:00 PM, at the Church of Saint Mary, 1347 E 49th Pl, Tulsa OK, 74105. On Saturday, August 2, 2025 @ 09:00 AM, a mass service will be conducted at the same Church as the rosary. Grave-side service immediately following mass at Calvary Cemetery, 9101 S Harvard Ave, Tulsa, OK, 74137. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Green Country in her honor.
