Florence Ann Bailey Caraway, 85, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on August 29, 2026.
Florence Ann was born in Tulsa on April 9, 1941, to Larkin Bailey and Elsie Schlegel Bailey. A lifelong daughter of Tulsa, she attended Holland Hall School, graduating with the Class of 1959. She continued her education at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and later returned to Tulsa to attend the University of Tulsa College of Law, graduating in 1978.
Florence Ann was deeply connected to Tulsa Abstract & Title Company, the family business founded by her father, Larkin Bailey. Her family’s legacy in Tulsa and the community they called home remained important to her throughout her life.
Florence Ann was raised in First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, where she and her family worshipped for many years, and later found a church home at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
Florence Ann loved her family, traveling, fashion, and Corvettes. She had a passion for life and a wonderful sense of adventure, always ready to embrace a new experience or seize an unexpected opportunity. Her curiosity about the world took her many places, and she encouraged those she loved to approach life with that same spirit. She was also an enthusiastic sports fan who especially enjoyed cheering for the Tulsa Drillers, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys.
Above all, Florence Ann loved her family. She was the only child of Larkin and Elsie Bailey and the devoted mother of her only daughter, Gretchen Bailey Caraway. The bond between mother and daughter was one of the defining relationships of her life.
Florence Ann was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elsie Schlegel Bailey and Larkin Bailey. She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Bailey Caraway.
A service honoring Florence Ann’s life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on September 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the mausoleum beside her parents.
