Obituary

Frank Garrison Hamilton Jr, M.D. was born September 15, 1949 in Evanston, Ilinois and went home to be with Jesus on January 10, 2021 after a very brief illness.   He spent his military service with the U. S. Army in Vietnam as a Medic before completing his medical education.  After graduation from medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University, he completed a Family Medical Residency in San Bernadino, California.  During residency, he married Sharon on January 19, 1980 in Portland, Oregon.  After residency they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma so Frank could attend Rhema Bible Training Center and begin his practice in Family Medicine.  After Bible college he became a faculty member in Medical Education at In His Image.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Hamilton.  He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sharon, and his two daughters, Rebeka Eslinger of Tulsa and Rachel Sevigny of Mesa, Arizona along with two grandchildren.  Frank is also survived by one brother and three sisters.

Frank was a physician, beloved by his patients, partners and an instructor of physician residents for 39 years.  Along with his patient practice and teaching responsibilities, Frank also fulfilled a major administrative role at Family Medical Care.

He participated in a variety of mission trips, volunteered with Good Samaritan Health Services and was privileged to help establish a family medicine residency in Kabul, Afghanistan.

With his wife, Sharon, by his side, they enjoyed travel, hiking, and visiting family and friends.   He also liked to work in the yard and was an avid outdoor exercise enthusiast.  He kept family and friends entertained with his sense of humor, and VBDJs (very bad dad jokes).  In addition to Sharon, his children were the light of his life and his grandchildren could do no wrong.

All of his responsibilities were grounded in an unshakeable faith in God.  For all his married life, Frank arose early each day to pray and spend time with his Lord.
