Frank Patton "Pat" McGee - loving husband, father, grandfather, and son passed away on September 25, 2025.

Pat was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 10, 1932, to James Patton McGee and Mary Virginia Grass McGee. He attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, majored in Journalism and served in the R.O.T.C. After graduation Pat served in the Army and used his journalism degree. He was stationed in Mannheim, Germany where he enjoyed skiing and the lively German towns. After his service he joined International Business Machines (IBM) in Oklahoma City where he was in Sales. Over his career in computer sales, he also worked for McDonnell-Douglas in Sales and Sales Training. During his employment he worked mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. However, the family did enjoy a two-year assignment in the Denver area when the children were young. There, he taught the kids to ski, camp and appreciate nature. He retired in St. Louis. After the kids were grown, he and Carolyn moved to Tulsa to be closer to the cabin at Grand Lake. They enjoyed being close and spending time there at all times of the year.

While at IBM he met the love of his life, Mary Carolyn Eads. They were married on July 22,1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They have three children–Mary Carolyn "Micki" McGee Philbin, Charles Patton "Pat" McGee, and Molly Eads McGee Lawson. Pat had many hobbies. He always enjoyed woodworking in his shop in the basement of the home in Webster Groves, Missouri. He crafted many intricate toys and pieces of furniture for his kids & grandkids. Competing in the Pinewood Derby with Pat in Cub Scouts was a serious endeavor. He also loved photography. Whether on the sidelines at WGHS football games for Pat, or at the many horse shows Molly participated in, he was always there with his camera. He even helped Micki create her own "My Camera" badge for her Girl Scout troop. He also stepped up and coached Micki and Molly's softball teams. There, he was influential in many lives with encouragement and humor. He refinished furniture, loved playing golf & sailing his sailboats at Grand Lake. He also said, "never have a dog unless you're going to spoil it." Pat never knew a stranger, stopping to chat with every person he met as though they were special. It is that quality of Pat that we all agree on. His bright blue eyes and contagious smile are what will be remembered most.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter Micki and her husband Don and daughter Kate Philbin; son Pat and his wife Daphne and their sons Christopher McGee (Cynthia) and Danny McGee; daughter Molly and her husband Eric Lawson and their son Luke (Laura) Lawson, daughter Mary (Ben) Dunkerton, and son Patrick (Paige) Lawson. He also has two great-grandchildren – Lily and Lerae Lawson (Luke and Laura). He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary McGee Amsden, his parents James Patton McGee and Virginia Grass McGee, and Grandson Donald R. Philbin, III.
