Obituary

Frank Murry Russell was born on October 11th, 1926, and passed away on June 28th, 2023, at the age of 96.

He was raised in a family of one sister and two brothers in a very loving and Christian home.

Frank graduated from Stroud High School in 1945. He married Thelma Kathleen English in 1947, and God blessed them as they had 73 years together.

He began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1947 as a lineman and retired as an Engineer 40 years later, with 28 years of perfect attendance. He enlisted in the Army, January of 1952, and served through February of 1954. He was stationed in La Rochelle, France, in the Communication Signal Corp during the Korean conflict.

Frank will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather with a genuine and caring spirit. He was a strong Christian role model and father figure to many. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Frank was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports. His talents included building an repairing everything. He could take apart anything and put it back together without the directions.

He is preceded in death by his wife Thelma Kathleen, his parents Will and Lillie Russell, his brother Leon, and his sister Thelma Witt.

He is survived by his brother Marvin Russell and his wife Wilma of Seminole, daughter Gale and her husband Michael Rose of Owasso, daughter Janet Hodge of Tulsa, grandchildren: Christy and her husband Chuck French, Michael and his wife Jessica Rose of Owasso, Michelle and her husband Noah Geld of Tulsa, and Les Hodge and his wife Katy of Tulsa. Great-grandchildren, Darbi and her husband Aaron Vann of Owasso, Kayli and Tyler French of Owasso, Taylor, Nolan, Roman, and Easton Rose of Owasso, Lily, Stella, and Murray Geld of Tulsa, and one great-great-grandchild: Cooper Vann of Owasso.
