Harold Edwin Brown Jr., 71, Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on September 8, 2024. Harold was born in Tulsa on September 23, 1952, to Harold and Velda (Adams) Brown. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School. Harold joined the Air Force in 1972 and served his country in the Air Force until 1978. While in the Air Force he completed his associate and bachelor's degrees. While in the Air Force reserve Harold attended Tulsa University College of Law, and during this time he met the love of his life Debra (Davis) Brown and would go on to marry her on May 21,1977. Harold Graduated with his Juris Doctor from Tulsa University College of Law on May 13,1979. After he earned his Juris Doctor, he would go on to join the Army in 1979 which would begin the next chapter of his life. From living in Germany to coming back stateside to Kentucky he would then begin another new chapter as a father. Gregory Alan was born at Fort Campbell Kentucky in 1985 and then in 1989 Helen Elizabeth was born at Walter Reed. Harold would then go on to become a part of the Army Reserve and start working for the Department of Justice. While working for the Department of Justice Harold would then go on to attend the Army War College and complete a degree in Master of Strategic Studies in July of 2001. Harold retired from the Army in 2012 and from the Department of Justice in 2014.
Harold was an avid chess player and was active with the Oklahoma Chess Association. He was a member of Harvard Avenue Baptist Church and served in the building and grounds ministry. He loved to go on walks and spend time with his grandson, Luke Becker.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Velda Brown.
Harold is survived by his wife Debra of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son Gregory Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter Helen Becker and husband Calvin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brothers Franklin Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Steven Brown and wife Christine of Colorado; grandson Luke Becker of Tulsa, Oklahoma; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services for Harold will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Harvard Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Visitation for Harold will be Friday, September 13, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stanley Funeral and Cremation Service of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
