Holly Michelle Brown graced this world with her arrival on July 17, 1968 in Houston, Texas. She left us to "sing in the choir in heaven with her daddy and Jesus" on January 4, 2023. She will be missed beyond measure.

Holly is preceded in death by her daddy, Jerry Gene Brown, her grandparents, James Arthur "Buster" Brown and Alma Mae Brown Gore, Ralph Porter Grimsley and Veda Freda Burford Grimsley, her aunts and uncles, Joe Bob Brown, Terry Brown, Charles and Betty Nugen, Duane and Twila Bersche.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Grimsley Brown, sisters and brothers-in-law, Gaye Dawn Brown and Michael Ransom, Melanie Brown Poulter and Kelly Poulter, nephews, Jordan Poulter and Jared Poulter, uncle, Leroy Grimsley, her longtime aid and dear friends Gina and Kyle Allbritton, and many very loved cousins and friends.

There aren't enough words to describe our precious Holly. Holly was a powerful bright shining light She was hilarious and brutally honest, joyous and fun-loving, stubborn and strong, and above all, endlessly loving. She was absolutely passionate about life and loved a good party or any social gathering. She loved singing and dancing and just entertaining in general. She was always the life of the party whether you wanted her to be or not.

Holly faced many challenges in her life. She was intellectually disabled, autistic, and epileptic. But to her family and others who loved her, she was perfect. Holly had very special gifts. She had an enormous heart in her petite 4 foot 9 frame. She wholeheartedly loved her family and friends, but she loved EVERYONE. She wanted to meet and embrace everyone she came across, often to our chagrin as we tried to steer her away from hugging total strangers. But almost every person who had either a fleeting interaction or a lasting relationship with Holly was touched by her warmth and her love and left a better person for knowing her.

Holly wanted everyone to be happy and would do everything she could to make sure you were. Her beautiful smile was contagious and could melt the hardest heart. She seemed able to sense when someone was hurting, always giving special attention to anyone she felt needed a wave, a hug or a kiss on the cheek.

Holly's genuine love, compassion and outlook put everything in perspective for those who loved her. Her very presence in our lives made us realize the smallness of our problems and the importance of grace and acceptance. She helped mold us into the people we are – she made us better people. We feel blessed to have been Holly's family. Though she's no longer with us, her spirit and her shining light live on through all of us who loved her.
