J Barry Wilder passed away on May 12, 2022 at the age of 82, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His struggle with health issues the past few years did not dim his welcoming smile nor harden his gentle soul.

Barry was born in Freeport, Texas and grew up in Houston. He found the love of his life, Nancy, in high school and they were married for 60 years. Their life together took them briefly to Norman, Oklahoma, Nashville, Tennessee, and Orange, Texas, before settling in Tulsa in 1971. They have three children, Lori, Alison, and Scott, and four grandchildren, Jonathan, Andrew, Sarah, and Sann.

Barry loved the great outdoors, whether on a sailboat, a hiking trail, or the back deck by the pool. He traveled the world, visiting over thirty countries on five continents, but he most loved being with his family.

Barry's life will be celebrated at a memorial service at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa on June 4th at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Barry's name to All Souls Unitarian Church, The Oklahoma chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
