Jacqueline "Gayle" Pumpelly was born in Tulsa on June 4, 1931 to Hazel Claire and LeRoy Bossard. She grew up in Tulsa and attended Kendall Elementary, Wilson Jr. High, Will Rogers High School and Tulsa University. At 4 years old, Gayle and her sister LeClaire began tap dancing and at 8 years old, she and LeClaire appeared on the Major Bowes Amateur Hour. In junior high, she learned baton twirling as well as the clarinet.  Those activities earned her a spot as a twirler at Will Rogers and she was voted the band queen her senior year in 1949.

She attended TU on a twirling and orchestra scholarship and became a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. During her college days, she met and married Kenny Quigg.  They enjoyed a happy life together and had three wonderful children; Carla, Ken and Kevin. However, Kenny passed away in 1977. After his death, Gayle joined Bible Study Fellowship and grew her Christian faith and then became a long-time member of Christian Women's Club.

A marriage to Skip Kreidler took her to a new home in Raleigh, NC. Her new home and stronger faith brought her a new delight of working with preschool children at her church.  In 1996, her husband passed away and a new chapter would begin in Tulsa, OK. After moving back to Tulsa, Gayle quickly found a church and became a Sunday school teacher and rejoined her Bible Study Fellowship group.  She attended her 53rd High School reunion and connected with old friends and began a new relationship with her former classmate Jim Pumpelly.  They both had a deep Christian faith which strengthened their relationship to marry in 2003 until Jim's passing in 2020.

Gayle's final years were filled with phone calls, FaceTime chats, and visits with her children Carla Ross, Ken Quigg and Kevin Quigg; grandchildren Alexis Dwyer, Austin Ross, Kenny Quigg, Brandon Quigg and Stephen Quigg; and 7 wonderful great-grandchildren. Gayle made many friends with her warm and kind spirit.

We would like to thank her caregivers, nurses and staff at Millenium Home Health/ Hospice, as well as the caring staff at Country Club at Woodland Hills.

Gayle's memorial service will be live-streamed for anyone who may not be able to physically attend.
