James R. Henderson was born July 29, 1944 to the late Albert and Agnes Henderson in Ashdown, Arkansas. He was the youngest of ten children. He is proceeded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
James received his formal education in Ashdown, Arkansas. He later served in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable discharge. He took pride in his service and he encouraged his children to follow his lead. He also attended college and was later employed by American Airlines.
He dedicated 30 years of his life to American Airlines. He took pride in all that he did. In 1999, James retired as a Supply Supervisor in the Maintenance and Engineering Department. James enjoyed being retired. During his retirement, he was the primary caregiver for his mother Agnes Henderson and his sister, Beatrice Henderson. James loved spending time with his family and friends.
James was also known as "Hollywood" by his family and friends because of his style and zest for the finer things in life. He also enjoyed the simpler things such as watching sports and rodeo competitions on TV.
On August 21, 2019, at the age of 75, James completed his earthly journey. He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Arnitha (Steven) Jones of Cleveland Texas; two sons, Gerard (Grisell) Henderson of McKinney, Texas and Michael Henderson of Frisco, Texas; five grandsons, Kenyon, Khristopher, Isaiah, Elijah Henderson, and Jacob Walker and one granddaughter, Sol Henderson; one sister, Gladys Tottress and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. James will be missed by all.
