"A man who walks with the Lord always reaches his destination." If anyone wants to know the legacy of Jerry Hall, just ask the grandchildren.  The family experienced that when a room full of his grandchildren shared stories, laughed, cried, talked over one another and one-upped each other in the recollection of the wonderful man of Jerry Lee Hall.

Jerry was born July 8, 1952, in Long Beach, California to Ruby Merice Bandy Enkey and Calvin Lamont Hall.  He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when he was 2 years old.  He was the fifth born of six children.  He met his high school sweetheart (and future wife), Patricia Davis, in August of 1970.  He graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1971.  He attended NSU in Tahlequah and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1975 as a member of the Acacia fraternity.  Jerry and Patricia married in 1977 and made Tulsa their home.  They raised three children while pursuing a career in the home building business.  Jerry was recognized several times for the quality of his workmanship through the Home Builders Association Parade of Homes. Jerry was a creator - he enjoyed seeing ideas come to life in his work.   He invested a lot of himself in his projects and their details, always striving to create a space his clients would feel comfortable in and proud to call home.  In addition to his profession, he was involved in First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, where he was a member since 1978.  There he served as both an elder and trustee and was involved in mission work.  He was active in Bible Study Fellowship and served as a group leader for many years.  His family describes Jerry as an excellent provider, comforter, protector, constant encourager with pure love for each of them.  Patricia would say, "Jerry made me feel like a Queen and loved me deeply."  Jerry loved to include his family in his adventures.  He enjoyed travel…with sandy beaches and Italy being his favorites.  He also enjoyed fishing (anywhere) but especially chasing fish in Alaska and Colorado.  Anytime he could get his family in on the action he would.  Jerry loved to cook, but more than that, he savored moments over a meal with friends and family.  He would often make his famous lasagna and share it under the condition of a deep conversation.  He was a very loyal friend to many and made people feel valued, loved and heard. He would not accept a shallow response to important questions and often would make people dig to give a genuine answer.  Like many, throughout Jerry's life he encountered his share of difficulties.  Through these experiences he developed a unique characteristic of Grit.  This grit was not just a toughness, it was a calm, quiet strength in which his family found comfort up to his last day.  He didn't shy away from hard conversations or situations.  Many times, he would embrace them as opportunities to lean on his faith and share that same faith with others.  Jerry would say, "The things I used to worry about don't matter to me as much anymore."- a result of his relationship with Jesus, no doubt.  Jerry's legacy lives on with his grandchildren.  They say their granddaddy taught them to fish, took them on adventures, encouraged them, wanted to know all the details of their lives, taught them about the Bible, "he was always there", always gave hugs and kisses, made sure they had full bellies (of coney island and lasagna), always hit the "ramp" on the way to summer camp, and most importantly his grandkids know "Granddaddy loved them".

Jerry is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 47 years, Patricia Davis Hall, their son Barrett Roland Hall (Lindsay), Abigail Armenta Martin (Michael) and Trenton Nikolaus Hall. Granddaddy will be missed greatly by Breece, Rose, Cici and Banner Hall and Isabella, Sophia, Knox, Nicholas and Elliana Martin. In addition, he is survived by sister Sheila Scarbrough (Marty), brother Dennis Hall (Lesly) and sister Ona Scott (Bill), stepsister Janice Dickerson (RL - deceased), stepbrother Everett Enkey (Sherry) and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws…all of whom adored him.  He is preceded in death by Ruby and Earl Enkey, Lamont Hall, his sister Tarsha Tharp and brother Wayne Hall.

There will be a celebration of his life at First Presbyterian Church downtown Tulsa, Friday, September 6th, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
