Jerry Beth Jordan, 97 was born May 30, 1928 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Gerald and Edith (Top) Spencer and died on August 15, 2025 in Oklahoma City.  She had two older half brothers, Jimmy Cox and Harper Cox and a sister, Mary Anne arrived when Jerry was 8 years old. The family moved to Oklahoma City when Gerald became a state senator.  Jerry attended Roosevelt Junior High and Classen High School.  The northwest neighborhood near McKinley Park was a great place to gather with her friends where they would go biking to Will Rogers Park and picnicing.  In the fall of 1946, she and several of her dearest friends decided to go to college at Oklahoma City University which was just a mile away from her home.  Jerry met her husband to be, Jack,  at a Christmas Party and they dated all four years before marrying on August 24, 1950.

Jack was a ministerial student and served a small church in Earlsboro.  After graduating from OCU, Jack attended Perkins School of Theology at SMU and earned his masters of divinity.  Jerry earned a BA in Letters/English.  Their first full time church was Bartlesville-Limestone Methodist which they literally built from the ground up.  While in Bartlesville, their son Stephen was born in 1953 and daughter Connie was born in 1955.   Mark was born in Enid in 1960 and their family was complete.

Through the years while her children were growing, Jerry was active in Scouting, AAUW and PEO chapters in Collinsville, Tonkawa and Bartlesville, as well as many church activities and organizations.  Jerry returned to work after all the kids were in school.  She was a librarian at the Collinsville, Purcell and Tonkawa Public Libraries.  She also worked at the Oklahoma United Methodist Church Conference office while Jack was serving at Mayfair Heights UMC and St. Matthew's in Midwest City.  Jerry loved music of all kinds, reading, movies and traveling to many places with Jack and the children.  She had a great love of the mountains in Colorado.

Jerry returned to Bartlesville with Jack in 1990 for his last appointment at Bartlesville UMC.  Following Jack's death in 1996, she remained in Bartlesville until 2012 when she moved to the Oklahoma Methodist Manor (now Trinity Woods) in Tulsa.  She remained active there and enjoyed all of the activities and programs that were offered as well as musical offerings at the TPAC.  She especially enjoyed taking her dog Gracie for walks around the beautiful campus.  She was also active in The Wild Bunch, a fun-loving group of retired ministers and their spouses who enjoyed gathering for social engagements and fellowship.  Jerry also loved the OKC Thunder and rarely missed watching a game.  Her favorite players were Paul George and SGA.

In 2023, Jerry returned to Oklahoma City to be closer to her family and resided at Epworth Villa.  She was active there until her health began to fail.  She moved into Heaven House in April of 2024 and remained there until her passing.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, husband Jack, son Stephen in 1973 and daughter Connie in 2018.  She is survived by her son Mark and his wife Jana of Oklahoma City, Grandson Bayley Jordan and his wife Jennifer and their three daughters Anna, Maggie and Lucy of Oklahoma City, Granddaughter Evan Jordan and her fiancée Chase Hudson of Oklahoma City, Sister Anne Spencer, Nephews Brian Spake and his wife Danielle, Rick Taylor and his wife Debbie, David Hitt and his wife Theresa, Nieces Betty Gordon and Laura Marie Thompson.
