Joe Broughton's Obituary
Joseph C. "Joe" Broughton passed from this life surrounded by his loving family on June 16, 2019 at the age of 57. He was born on April 18, 1962 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Joseph "Leon" and LaWanda (Wolfe) Broughton.
Joe will be remembered for his quick wit, soft demeanor and big heart. Fall was his favorite time of year because it meant one thing: OU Sooners Football. Every game day you could find Joe making chicken wings or his famous chili and cheering on his beloved Sooners. Aside from Owen Field, his happy place was the family house on Grand Lake. Joe loved to fish, go out on the boat and just be there with his family. He was really one of a kind. Joe was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and LaWanda; and one sister, Brenda Gail Broughton. Joe is survived by his son, Tyler Broughton; granddaughter, Baylee Broughton; sisters, Connie Bohnefeld, Janice Bell and husband Jim, Debbie Carter and husband David, Angela Brown and husband Robert; brothers, Edward Broughton and wife Patty, Melvin Broughton and wife Roberta; beloved dog, Spirit; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
