Joe Samuel
Green
May 7, 1947 — Mar 19, 2022
Broken Arrow
Joe S. Green passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Joe Samuel Green was born to Ruby Washington Green and Roosevelt Green on May 7, 1947 in Rye, Arkansas. He was the 8 th of 9 children. Five of his siblings proceeded him in death. His three remaining siblings are: Crivisteen of Warren AR, Rosa (husband: Wardell) of Wilmar AR, and Tommy (wife: Shonta) of the Oklahoma City area.
He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at age 22. His walk with Jesus greatly improved when he started attending Church On The Move in 2010.
Joe was married to Janie (Jan) for 52 years. To this union was born 3 children; Joseph Timothy, Janel (husband: Jeffrey), and Janar. He has 14 grandchildren, (1) great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Joe owned his own business for over 40 years. He also served as a police officer for some time, and sold automobiles for over 15 years.
He was an avid bowler and also really enjoyed going fishing when possible. Joe would often relax by grabbing his wife, hopping in a vehicle, and going on long drives, enjoying the scenery and Jan's company.
He really loved his family, and never seemed to meet a stranger. Many knew him as "Cowboy". He loved, served, and showed appreciation to people wherever he went. Joe was truly an encourager. "I just want you to know that God is so good" and "I just want you to know that I appreciate you" were two of his favorite phrases. One of the most fulfilling things to him was serving as a host at Church On The Move. He loved to share Jesus, and to make people smile and feel welcomed.
Many thanks to his church family at Church On The Move. Thank you to his bowling buddies, to his classmates from the graduating class of 1965, to his many customers, and to his loving family and friends.
