John Shepard Campbell dedicated his life to servitude, gratitude, altruism, and compassion. Journeying alongside his wife of 58 years, Jane Campbell, he fortified a path of love for his two children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was the first person to pull out a camera and document the moment. Photos upon photos tell the story of our lives and the love that surrounded him. He was the loudest person clapping for us and cheering us on from games to graduations and weddings to babies, his smile was the proudest of all. He was the first to laugh… loud, boisterous, and contagious. He put God and family first as they were his greatest priority, blessing, and accomplishment.

John eagerly led others and walked in faith. A proud member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, he volunteered in television ministry by broadcasting weekly church services and filming weddings, baptisms, and funerals. Additionally, he was a Senior High Youth Sponsor, and became a missionary for multiple community outreach projects and youth programs including activities for district camps, retreats, and six Mexico Mission trips.

Beginning in 1960, John spent 65 years as an Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator under his licensed call sign, K5ENA. He was on the Board of Directors for OM International Sideband Society (OMISS), and a member of Tulsa Amateur Radio Club (TARC), Straight Key Century Club (SKCC), International Morse Preservation Society (FISTS), 3905 Century Club (CCN), Geratol Net, Ten-X Net, and Quarter Century Wireless Association (QCWA) while being a Volunteer Examiner for American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and W5YI. In addition to connecting with individuals around the globe and throughout all 50 states, he participated in emergency communication exercises and National Weather Service training through TARC. His unique skillset combined with his Bachelor's in Business Administration and Finance from Northeastern State University, propelled him to retirement with 29 years at Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency as the Communications and Warning Officer, Fiscal Coordinator, and Administrative Services Assistant of Communications. John also spent 15 years as a Television Studio Engineer with KJRH and KTEW.

Further, John pledged his time as a Freemason with the Red Fork Masonic Lodge #505 AF&AM as a former Master and Treasurer. Here his core values of integrity, kindness, honesty, commitment, and charity shined through as he selflessly dedicated his life to the service of others.
