Joseph Lynden Hoppes of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on November11, Veteran's Day, 2024. He spent a beautiful day with his wife, had his truck repaired, grilled on the deck, and peacefully passed away in his chair on the front porch.

Mr. Hoppes was born on April 1, 1947, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He graduated from College High School in Bartlesville. He later attended Okmulgee Technical College for automotive training.

On August 9, 1969, he married Shirley Holton. Lynn served his country as a Specialist fourth Class in Ft. Hood, Texas and was deployed to Da Nang, Vietnam. After returning to Oklahoma, he attended Tulsa Welding School and was later employed by Harrison Manufacturing. He spent 47 years working as a Welder/Fabricator for the company. He enjoyed archery, canoeing, and motorcycle rides with Shirley and the children. Some of his favorite excursions were to Eureka Springs and Padre Island.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph William Hoppes and Ruth Bingham Hoppes of Bartlesville. Lynn is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley Hoppes; son and daughter-in-law Clint and Robin Hoppes of Tulsa; daughter Lola Davis of Muskogee; daughter Sarah and son-in-law Chris Anderson of Glenpool; grandchildren Victoria, Jonathon, Jacob, Josiah, Alisha, Marianna Davis, and Karina; and great-grandchildren Matthew, Ember, Damien, and Liam. He is also survived by his sister Inez Barnes and her children: Angela Swigart, Mike Barnes, David Barnes, and Lisa Wells.
