Karen Elizabeth Bissell, age 63, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on Dec 25, 2025. Born on March 24, 1962, in Glens Falls, New York, Karen was the daughter of Harvey Maurice Bissell and Janice Alice Matheson. She graduated from Adirondack High School in 1980. Afterwards, she joined the Navy in 1980, serving until her honorable discharge in 1983 as a Yeoman Third Class. Later in life, she graduated from the University of Tulsa, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. Karen married Steven Carl Groff on October 03, 1981, in Norfolk, Virginia. They later divorced on June 04, 2008. They were married for 27 years and raised 3 children: Emily Anne Younce, Justin Tyler Groff, and Drew Brandon Groff. Karen loved many hobbies and activities, including knitting, crocheting, reading, paper crafts, canning, baking, writing poetry, sewing, and making quilts for friends, family, and those in need. She was an active member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Having participated as a member of the Church's Choir, the Knit and Crochet group, and many other committees and groups throughout the years. Karen was a very generous, kind, giving, and loving member of her Church and her Community. She was always thinking of ways to help those in need, even when she was in need herself. Remaining to cherish Karen's memory are her children, Emily Anne Younce of Norman, Oklahoma; Justin Tyler Groff of St Joseph, Missouri; Drew Brandon Groff of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Constance Adrielle Younce, Connor Alton Younce, Cameron Asher Younce, Jude William Groff; and her brother Kevin Edward Bissell of Wylie, Texas. Preceding Karen in death are her parents, Harvey Bissell and Janice Matheson Bissell, both buried in Booneville, New York.

Burial services will be held on January 16, 2026, at 11 am at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, with Military Honors conducted by the Navy Honor Guard. Memorial services will be held on Jan 16, 2026, at 3 pm at St Stephen's United Methodist Church with Pastor Roland officiating.

Flowers may be donated and sent to St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Karen's memory may be made to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Charity.
