Laria Elizabeth Underwood passed away peacefully Thursday October 27 at the age of 91.  Laria was born in 1931 in Kansas City, MO to Walter L. and Elizabeth J. DeNoya.
She spent her early years in Ponca City, OK then moved to Tulsa, OK.  She graduated from Central High School then attended the University of Tulsa.  She pledged Delta Gama sorority her freshman year.  That same year she met her future husband F. Clay Underwood.  They were married in 1950 and spent the next 60 years together until his passing in 2010.  During their marriage, they lived in Tulsa, Los Angles, and Houston.  Laria moved back to Tulsa in 2013.  Laria was active at St. John's Episcopal Church in Tulsa, then St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston.  While at St. Martin's she was a member of the alter guild.  She also volunteered as a docent at Bayou Bend, a museum for American decorative arts and painting.  She loved to cook and host dinner parties for family and friends. She was an avid bridge player.   Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends at her cabin on Grand Lake.

Laria is survived by her sons, D. Clay Underwood and his wife Pam of Edmond, OK; John L. Underwood of Tulsa; grandchildren, Cameron Underwood of Edmond and Connor Underwood and wife Charlie of Santa Monica, CA; sister, Linda Howell of Spring, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband F. Clay Underwood; son, James L. Underwood; her parents; and brother, James DeNoya.

Graveside service is to be conducted at Noon on Thursday, the 3rd of November, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.
