Margaret Crain was 101 years young when she passed away peacefully on the morning of August 6, 2022. Her family was by her side throughout her journey home. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service on August 15, 2022, at 12:30 pm, at Stanley's Funeral Home, 3959 E 31st St. Tulsa, Ok 74135. Visitation will be available before the services from 9:00-11:30 am.

Born Margaret Rush on September 14, 1920, in Henryetta, OK, to parents Cecil and Elizabeth, she was the 2nd eldest of five brothers and two sisters. After finishing school, she married Jack Crain in August 1939. They were married for 60 years, moving throughout the country during and after the War for work. They would finally settle in Tulsa, OK, where they raised their three children, sons Jack and Larry, and daughter Pam.

Margaret retired from Douglas Aircraft after almost 20 years of service. Once Jack retired from his electrical business, they moved to the Coves at Grand Lake to enjoy travel, family, and friends. Margaret learned to play golf and joined the women's group and Bridge club. Fishing and boating also became mainstays for the whole family.

Following the arrival of the first of six grandchildren in 1970, she became lovingly known as Nana by Jackson, Patrick, Sean, Cara, Jason, and Jamie. Thanks to some wonderful additions to the family in Caroline, Arie, Anne, Tim, and Eric, Nana was blessed with ten great-grandchildren, Jackson, Miles, Nicole, Katelyn, Nathan, Jasmine, Kelsey, Mason, Liam, and Asher.

Her family was the absolute joy of her life, whether it was taking her grandkids to the movies or presiding over unforgettable 4th of July celebrations. Nana's house was the place to be for family gatherings where there was always lots of home-cooked food, late-night Spades games, and plenty of her infectious laughter that could lite up any room. She never missed an opportunity to tell a funny story or great joke. Her fishing stories would make you laugh until you cry.

Margaret loved her card games, her spirits, gambling, and shopping. Shoes were a mainstay, and she always dressed in style. Football was an obsession; she loved both kinds, the Sooners and the Cowboys.

Margaret and Jack had always traveled, so after his death in 1999, she continued traveling with family and friends. She also played golf into her 80s, Bridge into her 90s, and frequently attended the horse races in Hot Springs until her last visit when she was 98. She won on number 7 all day long.

She lived at the Coves for 35 years before returning to Tulsa. She had watched it grow from the time she was a child and always called it home. Her last few months were difficult, but she was tough. She always knew her family, and when it was time, she told us she wanted to go home. With a very determined look and that little index finger raised, she announced that she was "done."

Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers Jim, Bob, Garland, Cecil, Bill, her husband, Jack, and her son, Larry. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Ina Stringer and Wanda Rush, while her legacy will live on in her son Jack, daughter Pam, and two generations of adoring grandkids.

Everyone wanted to be Margaret because she aged so gracefully and found the humor in small things. Rest In Peace, Margaret Nana Crain; you've earned it. You will be missed but never forgotten.
