Marguerite
Dickson
Dec 11, 1922 — Apr 5, 2018
Marguerite Emma Dickson, longtime Tulsa area resident, passed from this life on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the age of 95 years. Marguerite was born December 11, 1922 at Springvale, Maine to Alton Edmund and Alice Blanche (Guertin) Hill. She was raised in the Springvale – Sanford area. On June 22, 1945, Marguerite and John Dickson were united in marriage in Springvale. Following his discharge from the US Navy, they moved to Oklahoma. Marguerite worked for Fourth National Bank as a PBX operator for several years. She was an avid gardener, especially with her Irises and African violets. She had a beautiful voice and sang solos at University Methodist Church; she also enjoyed knitting, traveling, spending time with her family and cooking, particularly candy making. We all looked forward to her famous divinity and fudge.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are her children – Dorothy Dickson-Dodds and husband John of Walnut Creek, CA and Janice Selby and husband Rick of Sand Springs; a sister Hazel Lyons of Kennebunkport, ME; Grandchildren – Jason DeBiere and wife Shannon and their children Coralie and Maisie; Sasha DeBriere and her children Paulina and Diego; Justin Selby and wife Melody and children John, Isaac, Daniel & Joseph; and Rachel Selby and husband Jeremy Simms and children Aubrey and Kaden; a cousin Ralph Walker of Oologah, OK, and several nieces, nephews in Maine. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 2002 and two sisters Barbara and Pauline.
Funeral services for Marguerite will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 in the Stanley Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 am with Pastor John Dugas of Grace Bible Church officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK. The family has entrusted services to Stanley's Funeral & Cremation Service, 3959 East 31st St., Tulsa, OK.
