Maria Teresa Almendares, age 82, went Home on March 13, 2018 in Tulsa, OK.  She is survived by daughters, Mary, Ruby and Joni; sons, George, Eddie and Bob; grandchildren, Adam, Amy, Anna, Robbie, Andrea, Eddie, Michael, TJ, and Codi; and 28 great-grandchildren.

'Teresa' was the fifth of 12 children in her family. She was born in Campoalegre, Colombia.

She met George, her husband of 47 years, in Tulsa, OK.  They were married in September, 1953 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

She was fiercely independent, and completely devoted to her family.  She was her most free, joyful self with them.  As her grandkids put it, 'she was the best grandmother anyone could ask for.' Many lives have been made richer and better thanks to Teresa. We thank God for the time He gave us with her.  We will cherish her memory as long as we live,  and will love her forever together in Heaven. Teresa will be buried next to George at Calvary Cemetery following a private service. Special thanks to Saint Francis Hospice staff for their special care and understanding.
