Marilyn Juanita Curry, age 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at her residence. She was born on February 6, 1926 in Bemis, Tennessee to Frank and Mary Lee Wise (McKenzie). Marilyn was known as a sweet, caring lady, and always properly dressed, whether in a formal setting or camping with her family. She lived in Tennessee until she moved with her family to Sand Springs, Oklahoma when she was 14. She was a graduate of Sand Springs High School, now known as Charles Page High School. Marilyn was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Sand Springs until later in life when she joined Southern Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She taught second grade Sunday school for more than 20 years and was always very active in her church. Marilyn married Milton Kitchens, Sr. and they were married for 42 years. Later she was married to Johnny Rauser of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following his death, she met and married the love of her life, Richard Curry of Tulsa.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Lee Wise, her brothers, Frank Wise and Allen Wise, her husbands, Milton Kitchens, Sr., Johnny Rauser, and Richard Curry, and her son Milton Kitchens, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Frances Cabioc of Sand Springs, her son and his wife, John Stanley and Edie Kitchens of Jenks, Oklahoma, one niece, Kara Hendricks of Sand Springs, and one nephew and his wife, Steve and Linda Wise of Richardson, Texas, four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Stanleys Funeral Service, 3539 East 31st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74135. Internment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Lunch will be served at the home of Stan and Edie Kitchens following the service and internment.
