Obituary

Marilynn Eileen Bartel was born on December 17,1950 in Ponca City, OK to Dr. Jim and Joan Fuller.  Marilynn was the eldest of six children (Jani, Emily, Doug, Barbara, and Bruce).  The Fuller family made an impact in Ponca City and continues that legacy today.  In October 1969, Marilynn met her future husband, Mike Bartel, at the University of Oklahoma in chemistry class.  They were married on July 31, 1971.  Their son Scott was born in 1977 and they made Tulsa, OK their home in 1981, followed by the birth of their daughter, Emilie.

Marilynn worked at St. Francis Hospital for 40 years. Starting in the lab, transitioning to lab director, and eventually VP of Ancillary Services.  Marilynn won the Integrity award at St. Francis and was a pillar there throughout her career.

Marilynn loved to volunteer in the community, including her church, Kirk Crossing, and Kirk of the Hills. She also served with Pathways Adult Learning Center, and local PEO chapter.

Marilynn passed on December 30 surrounded by her family.  She was a very enthusiastic Sooners fan and attended games for over 40 years with her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She was an avid sports fan. And enjoyed cheering on her grandson's soccer and baseball games. She also loved music and theatre as she enjoyed attending the PAC theatre, as well as supporting her grandson's community theatre performances.

Mariynn's joy was her family and loved planning family trips for her husband, family, and close family friends.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mike Bartel, their son Scott Bartel his wife Melissa, their boys Jake, Jaxx, Tanner, and Ian, and their daughter Emilie Bartel.  She is survived by her sisters Jani Elkins (Mike), Emily Otto (Joe), Barbara Millwee (Greg), Betty Winchell (Lee), and brothers Doug Fuller (Susie) and Bruce Fuller along with a full family of nieces and nephews.
