Obituary

Mark S. Megill of Tulsa, Oklahoma
9/22/1951 – 11/20/2020

Our family lost our rock, Mark Steven Megill aka "Choctaw Ortega", 69 on 11/20/2020.  He now resides with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Mark was born in Tulsa to David L. Megill, Jr. and Rozella Kerby Megill Bruns on September 22 nd , 1951. He graduated from Nathan Hale High School and completed an associate degree from Tulsa Community College, at the age of 67, in Digital Media. He worked for 34 years at Baker Hughes, were he was named on three patents and was a key contributor in implementing design manufacturing processes for all the many teams he was involved in through the years.

Mark loved his family and friends more than anything.  Another love was music, which he wrote and had copyrights to. Some can be heard on Reverb Nation under his alias.  Other areas of great interest were racing, fishing, teaching, traveling and a new hobby, train watching, were some of his favorite things.  He came from a longline of story tellers, and always had funny anecdotes to share.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Shawna Rachelle Megill, and brother David L. (Larry) Megill.

Mark is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Kimball Horn Megill. His son Jeremy Megill and wife Lori, his bonus son Justin Horn and wife Mari, his sisters, Judy Baker (& Walt), Pam Rink (& Tom), brother in law, David Kimball, and seven grandchildren he adored, Jimmy Megill, Shay Horn, Kaydon Horn, Austin Megill, David Megill, Zach Horn & Misty Megill as well as aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and his dog Camo.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to John 3:16 Mission, The Food Bank or Day Center for the Homeless.

A Celebration of Mark's life will be 11AM Saturday (8/7) at Stanleys Grand Chapel.
