Mary Theresa Cannon, affectionately known as Terry, entered the world on October 3, 1933, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and peacefully departed on January 23, 2024. Born as the third child to Phillip and Mona Cannon, Terry's educational journey began at Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, NM. Following her graduation, she embraced a 15-year commitment as a nun with the Sisters of Loretto before redirecting her passion for education to a more personal pursuit. Terry achieved a master's degree from Notre Dame University.

Dedicating her life to education, Terry taught in various locations, including Kansas City, MO, Denver, CO, and, ultimately, settling in St. Louis at Ladeau High School. Her profound care for students endured even into her 90s, maintaining connections with those she had taught. Upon retirement, she returned to Santa Fe, reveling in spiritual communities, such as AA, Buddhist, Sufi, and Christian.

After the loss of her dear friend Barbara in Santa Fe, Terry moved back to Tulsa to be closer to family. Actively engaged in AA, celebrating 44 years of sobriety, she generously shared her journey with others. Volunteering at St. Francis Hospital, she served as the President of the St. Francis Volunteer Association and contributed to Clairhouse, a facility dedicated to end-of-life care.  Terry participated in weekly meditation at St. John's Center for Spiritual Formation, where she served on the board of directors.

Terry's legacy extends beyond her professional life; she was a devoted and compassionate friend, characterized by a sharp intellect and profound spiritual contemplation.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother Pat Cannon, and sister Ann McMichael, Terry is survived by her nephews, Bill McMichael, Phil McMichael, Pat McMichael, and Kevin McMichael, many great nephews, and nieces as well as numerous friends and associates.
