Michael Francis Davis
Mike was born in Brooklyn, New York to Margaret Theresa Regan Davis. His childhood was spent bicycling to Coney Island, going to parochial school, spending summers at a cabin on Long Island Sound.
Margaret signed for Mike to enter the Airforce when he was 17 years. He served for six years at bases around the world as a firefighter on the flight line, in the transportation squadron, and while in Germany he was the base commander's chauffer.
Discharged in California, he worked there for a time, then headed back to Brooklyn. His Karmann Ghia made it as far as Wichita. While in Wichita he attended welding school and Wichita State University. He held various jobs at Beechcraft, Coleman, and Boeing. At Boeing Mike was part of the left-wing assembly crew. He worked for Denny Van Buskirk and gives him credit for teaching him trim carpentry skills.
It was building Hemi's Pizza locations that brought Mike to Tulsa. Steve," Hemi" was a supportive friend till the end.
In Tulsa Mike worked for himself and eventually formed Blue Turtle Cabinets and Fixtures. When asked about retirement, he would reply that people retire to do what I do. He loved it.
The Cherry Street coffee group was his family. He felt that meeting with these friends was the only way to start each day.
Mike is remembered as a lover of cats, dogs, chocolate chip cookies, woodworking equipment, big trucks, and wife Jeana.
