Michael Swyny Forsman

Michael Swyny Forsman, 81, of Tulsa, died September 9, 2026.

A lifelong Tulsan, Mike was the son of Marion Forsman and Catherine “Skilly” Forsman (née Swyny).

Mike was the devoted husband of Margaret “Pi” Ann Forsman (née Smith) for 61 years. Mike and Pi began their life together as dance instructors at Skilly’s. Mike graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and went on to enjoy a long and rewarding legal career in Tulsa.

Mike deeply valued the friendships he made throughout his life in Tulsa and believed in giving back to the community that had given him so much. He was particularly proud of his service as a lifetime member of the board of the Tulsa Boys’ Home.

Mike’s many adventures growing up in Bolewood Acres were with his best friend Coco, a dog of legend, in whom we find comfort knowing Mike is reunited with him.

Mike is survived by his wife, Pi; his son, Tim; his daughter, Robin; his grandchildren, Tobyn and Tess Forsman and Graham and Caroline Hausken; and his sister, DeeDee Hunter of Denver. He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Daniel, and his brother, Pat Forsman

An avid hunter and fisherman, Mike enjoyed teaching others his respect for nature, the patience hunting and fishing requires, and the importance of wildlife management. His dearest pupils were his son, grandsons, and nephews: Patrick Michael, Brian, and Jason Daniel and Mitch and Matson Hunter.

A lifelong fisherman and seeker of the second-best catch—Pi having been the catch of a lifetime—Mike’s final wish was that his ashes be scattered in good fishing waters.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tulsa Boy's Home or to a cause close to your heart.
