Michael Robert Teachman's Obituary
Michael Teachman went home to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 8th. Michael, and daughter Anna, were tragically killed in an automobile accident near Tulsa, Oklahoma at the tail end of a family va??cation.
Michael was born as the middle child of Philip and Carol Teachman, joining sister Diane, and later sister Sandra would be added to the family. Michael attended Highline High School, Washington State University, and was later employed at the Boeing Company where he worked for 30 years.
Michael met Lori Sherlock in high school band and they eventually married on December 2, 1995. Michael and Lori welcomed Anna Joy into their lives in February of 1999 and sister Kara in February of 2001. Together they raised and supported their two daughters in various ventures, including homeschool, choir, band, camp, church, 4-H, and Dairy Ambassador. Michael was very proud of his daughters and all that they learned and accomplished together.
Michael was passionate about many things, but even in his quiet way, he was most passionate about his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Because of this faith he was very involved at Des Moines Gospel Chapel as a deacon and serving on the missions committee. Michael loved flying, was a licensed pilot, and loved to be around airplanes. He loved his daughters, encouraging them in all their endeavors, and loved being together with his family, particularly family vacations. The last trip, via Route 66, the family had been wanting to do for 7 years, and they finally made it happen and it was one of the best trips yet.
Michael is survived by his wife Lori, daughter Kara, mother Carol, sisters Diane (Steve) Fairbanks and Sandra (David) Knapp, uncle Norman Teachman, mother-in-law Gladys Sherlock, sister-in-law Karen Sherlock, brother-in-law Greg Sherlock, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family graveside service at Ten Mile Cemetery, Lynden. The memorial service will be Sunday, July 29th at 3 pm at Overlake Christian Church, 9900 Willows Rd NE, Redmond, WA 98052.
