Phil Kingston

Phil Kingston of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on June 5, 2026. He was born on January 17, 1947, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Roy and Lola (Eubanks) Kingston.

Phil graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1965 and went on to earn his degree from Northeastern University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 1969. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Phil built a long and dedicated career with American Airlines, retiring after 25 years.

Phil was someone who truly lived life to the fullest. If you knew Phil, you were lucky to call him a friend, brother, or uncle. He had a way of lighting up any room he walked into, and the lives touched by Phil will feel a little dimmer without him. He had the greatest stories, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a gift for making people laugh. Always happy and always ready for the next adventure, Phil was the kind of person who was down for anything at a moment’s notice.

He loved to travel, enjoyed gardening, and had a well-known fondness for shopping. Phil would do just about anything for someone in need—though, as he liked to joke, he might not give you the shirt off his back unless he had already worn it three times. He also gave back to his community through volunteer work at St. John’s Hospital.

Phil had his quirks, too. He firmly believed banana pudding should never include wafers, and somehow, nothing was ever quite his fault. Those who knew him wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lola Kingston, and his sister, Debbie Bohanon.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, as well as a wide circle of friends whom he loved deeply and considered family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Youth Services of Tulsa in Phil’s memory. Phil’s laughter, stories, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
