Philip Robert Snow died suddenly in the early morning hours of July 5, 2022, at the age of 72. He was born on February 28, 1949, and he was a life-time resident and recent fan of Tulsa. Philip was married to the love of his life, Sara, who he married at age 37.  Sara always remained, "young stuff" to him, with 10 years separating the two. Philip had four sons who were constantly lighting up his life and keeping him on his toes. The couch he once shared with Sara, he shared with Eloise, his canine companion who adored him as only a special dog knows how to do.

Philip graduated from Northeastern University with a psychology degree. He ultimately decided to enter the oil and gas business, working at H & S Drilling Company, where he worked alongside his father and his brother. It was an industry that he dearly loved. Upon his recent retirement, Philip continued to explore his many passions. He was an avid gardener, he loved collecting rocks and minerals, he had a cigar collection that could rival the finest, and other interests too numerous to list. He was curious by nature and continued to try and learn something new every day, from cooking to no-till gardening, from coin collecting to picture taking, there were never enough hours in the day. And then there was one of his biggest projects of all, restoring a century old Colorado farmhouse. Philip added on that extra bathroom that Sara wanted so badly, and then he added on a whole lot more. He just kept going. And, going. He had planned to retire there full-time with Sara, but life got in the way.

While life had been busy getting in the way, Philip and Sara spent many spring and summer days, sitting under their giant backyard umbrella, especially when it rained, drinking endless cups of coffee, and eating countless tamales. They treasured every day they had together. They listened to books on tape. They cooked dinner together. They ate bacon by the pound. They made cookies, and they talked and talked and talked. They also sat comfortably in silence with one another, something they both treasured. They knew and were lucky to be aware of the fact that they knew, that "these are the good old days." Philip lived by the creed and often said, "If I am going to make a mistake, I want it to be on the side of love." He loved Sara well and he loved his family well.

It would be remiss not to mention Philip's love of music. His and Sara's home always had the perfect music playing in the background. From breakfasting music to cleaning music, he knew just what to play. Tom Petty Radio was a constant coming from his garage/workshop. Sometimes he even used his tube amp and the gigantic Klipsch speakers he had stashed upstairs, melodies probably heard even by the neighbors. Philip was ecstatic about Tulsa being chosen to house the Bob Dylan Museum. He was in awe of the renovations made to and the resurrection of the Church Recording Studio.  It is for these reasons and so many more musical reasons that the family graciously asks you to consider a donation to The Church Studio 304 S Trenton, Tulsa, OK 74120, in care of Teresa Knox, in lieu of flowers.

Philip is preceded in death by his sister, Judy; his mother, Phyllis Wilkinson; his father, Robert D. Snow; and his brother, John Harwood. His chosen brother, Guy Baldwin, also preceded him in death. Philip is survived by his wife, Sara; his four sons, Jacob (Johana), Joshua, Austin (Sachi), and Oliver; 5 granddaughters, Katelyn, Natalie, Vanessa, Fiona, and Emma, one grandson, Jay. He is also survived by his brothers; Bill R. Snow (Mary), Ken Harwood (Stephanie); sister, Anna Harwood Strong (Harry); niece, Madeline (Steve); nephew Robert (Jaime); and Billie Harwood and her son, John.
