In Loving Memory of Rachael Flood (12/16/85 - 05/17/24)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Rachael Leigh Flood. She departed this world on May 17, 2024, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. Rachael was a source of light and joy to all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished.
Born on December 16, 1985, Rachael was a miracle from the beginning as her mother was told she might not be able to have children after chemotherapy. It was just her and her mom for many years making them very close. Brian joined their family when Rachael was almost thirteen and loved and looked at him as her father.
Rachael was the first granddaughter to Cherie McCune (A. K. A. Mommy 2) who then became Mamie to the other grandchildren when unable to say Mommy 2; and, to Chris Ormsby-Lee, Brian's mother. She has multiple aunt, uncles and cousins she dearly loved. She brought laughter and love to their lives, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Rachael's whole extended family was her anchor, and their unwavering support and love provided her with strength throughout her life. Rachael's boyfriend, Kevin, also made a great impact on her life giving her the chance to be loved unconditionally.
Rachael also found some of her greatest joys in her "puppies" (fur babies, as she lovingly referred to them). She was a huge Harry Potter fan, and named them Dobbie and Harry.
Rachael found her calling later in life when she became a certified nurse assistant. She cared for patients in their homes and developed deep relationships with them. Rachael had a remarkable ability to empathize with others, offering comfort and reassurance during their times of need. She had genuine compassion with unwavering support, touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an everlasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known her.
Rachael's gentle nature warmed hearts around her. Her spirit, filled with compassion and kindness, touched the lives of those around her. During her time with us, Rachael left an indelible mark on the world. She had a curiosity for life, always seeking new experiences and ever gaining more independence.
During her time of illness she showed indelible strength and bravery. Each milestone was a victory. Though Rachael's time with us was far too short, her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. In the wake of this immeasurable loss, let us remember the joy she brought to our lives, the love she shared, and the beauty she created.
Rachael Flood, you will be forever missed, but your spirit will live on in our hearts. May you find eternal peace in the embrace of the heavens above.
Rest in peace, dear Rachael
