Robert "Bob” Roscoe Fretwell, 95, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on April 27, 1931, in Drumright, Oklahoma to Roscoe and Edith Fretwell.
After serving in the United States Army, Bob earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University. He went on to enjoy 25 years with Warren Petroleum, a division of Chevron Oil, retiring in 1996. During his tenure, he represented the company within the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) and served as a liaison to the federal government - a position he thoroughly enjoyed for the travel opportunities it brought his way.
Bob quietly spent his life giving back to his community. For 60 years, he was a dedicated member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees and for many years as the Chairman of the Finance Committee. He shared his love for music through many years of singing in the church choir.
Beyond the church, Bob was deeply committed to helping others. He volunteered at Restore Hope Ministries, a cause very close to his heart. He also shared his passion for baseball by mentoring young athletes during his time as President of South Tulsa Kids Baseball Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Myra Seawright Horton. Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Shirley Fretwell; his children, Rob Fretwell (Teresa) of Austin, TX, and Richie Fretwell (Lalisa) of Neosho, MO; his grandchildren, Ryan Fretwell (Sarah), Ashley Shanholtzer (Darrin), Ross Fretwell (Lindsey), Laura Horak (Jake), Jack Fretwell, and Gracie Fretwell; and seven loving great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bob's memory to Restore Hope Ministries.
