Robert Wayne Lovett, 72, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, passed away on June 22, 2020, at his home. Robert was born on February 15, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Melvin Earl and Ora Lee Ashley Lovett. Robert grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Berryhill High School. He attended Northeastern State College and played trombone in the college band, pep band, orchestra, and stage band, and he was a member of the Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity. He graduated with a Master's degree in Education plus 30 additional hours in pursuit of a doctorate. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in September of 1970, where he served as a trombone player in the 77th Army band stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma until 1973. Robert was a beloved and dedicated teacher of Beggs Public Schools for over 30 years. He had numerous hobbies throughout his life including scuba-diving, water skiing, flying RC model planes, cave exploring, and playing in a jazz band. After his retirement from teaching, he spent his time working on his farm and loving his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Audrey Lee Anderson Lovett; son, John Michael, and wife, Kristy; son, Robert Wesley, and wife, Sabine; daughter, Leslie Nicole, and husband, Mark Watczak; and sister, Ruby June Slankard. Additionally, Robert was a proud grandfather ("Papa") to 16 grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Robert Wayne Lovett Jr., his brothers, Melvin and Jack, and his sister, Wanda. Visitation will be held Monday, June 29, from 2-4pm at Stanleys Funeral & Cremation Service, 3959 E 31st St, Tulsa, OK, 74135. Memorial services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Stanleys Memorial Chapel. .
