Ruth Ann was born on September 26, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma and adopted by Robert and Esther Strong.

She was an only child, attended Catholic school, and later graduated from Lawton High School in 1963.

She married young, had two children with her first husband, and then started her first job working at Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO).

Both children played sports growing up, and she was their biggest cheerleader in the stands.

She would arrive fashionably late in her pink high heels, Elton John glasses, with her bigger than life personality.  All heads would turn as she was incredibly beautiful, petite and LOUD.

She loved attention, was funny and witty, had no fear nor filter, and was known for her Joan Rivers-like, sassy comments.

She had a charming personality. She loved hard, played hard, loved animals, and cherished her close friendships with neighbors and spending time with their children.

She was known by most as the high heels, rocket dog-wearing Grammie in a spiked collar necklace. She would often strut (or queen-like escorted) onto her grandchildren's soccer games in similar style. She loved a grand appearance.

She loved her animals like she did her children and grandchildren. She raised birddogs and rottweilers. She even taught her parakeet to call the cat and yell at her ex-husband.

She met Al Alexander at PSO where they both worked in Lawton.

The first time she met Al, she said, "he is a red-headed engineer, not to be trusted, watch him."

They both had fiery personalities; God had the best sense of humor reuniting them in 2001. The couple married June 18, 2003.

They traveled coast- to-coast, east, west, and south, and even took a trip to Canada.

A self-proclaimed "domestic engineer," she made a wonderful and loving home for the two of them.

She spent her down time watching her favorite shows: Law and Order, Mike and Molly, and her all-time favorite Friends.

Al was a godsend for taking such great care of her in the last several years of her life.

Ruth Ann is survived by: her husband of 19 years, Al Alexander (Claremore); Son, Robert Holcomb (wife Brooke), Stillwater; Daughter, Laurie Brobst (husband Tony,) Jenks; Step-son, Gary Duane Alexander (wife Jeanette), Owasso; Step-son, Aaron Alexander (wife Jennifer), Owasso; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

You are loved by many and brought great color to all of the lives you touched.

We love you, Grammie, and we will cherish your spunky personality and our happy memories ~ until we meet again in Heaven.
