Ruth V. Mason, 98, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at St. John's Ascension Hospital. Ruth was born on March 18, 1924 at Elizabeth, New Jersey to Fred "Fritz" and Anna Vollmer. She was an accomplished pianist who dreamed of being a music teacher until World War II altered her life's course. She worked as a secretary for Standard Oil until she married Theodore (Ted) Mason on September 20, 1952 in Richmond, Virginia. They remained married until his death in July of 2010.

Following marriage, Ruth became a homemaker. She volunteered as a paraprofessional at Paul Revere Elementary School. She was ordained as an Elder and Deacon as a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church. She voluntarily served in the church office for over 12 years, working alongside Ted as he served as Business Manager following his retirement. As a member of the church's prayer chain, she was known for her letters to members, their families and friends. In 2014 she was recognized as an Honorary Member of Presbyterian Women for her life's service to the church community.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Ann Wilcox, grandsons Laird Joseph (Joey) Wilcox (and partner Aliah) and Theodore (Ted) Anthony Wilcox, and great-grandchildren Kairi Craghead and Lucas Joseph Wilcox. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, and daughter, Laurie Mason.

Services will be held at Southminster Presbyterian Church (3500 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK) on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10 AM.

Ruth preferred that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory give to Southminster Presbyterian Church (3500 S. Peoria, Tulsa, 74105), Riverfield Country Day School (2433 W 61st St, Tulsa, 74132), or St. Jude Children's Hospital (PO Box 50, Memphis, TN, 38101).
