Ruth Mae McKibbon Mass died on 12-30-20 at age 93.  She died at her home in Tulsa.  Ruth was born in Tus kegee, Oklahoma on May 14, 1927, to Ronald C. and Mary E. Mc K ibbon . She attended Banner Elementary School, near Tuskegee, Edna Public Schools, Slick Public Schools and completed her Senior year of High School at Beggs High School, Beggs , OK , graduating in 1945.

In 1936, Ruth and her family made the trip to California, however, only stayed a few months before returning to the Edna, Oklahoma area in 1937 .

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.C. and Mary McKibbon , her brothers Wallace and Herbert McKibbon of Beggs , Eldon McKibbon of Columbus, Ohio, her sisters Louella McKibbon Robinson and Margaret McKibbon Smith of Sa pulpa and one niece, Ronna Jones.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Mass of the h ome; Denise Mass Hopper and son-in- law Stan of Collinsville; two grandsons, Nicholas Hopper of Tulsa, Michael Hopper and wife Stacy of Bixby.  A niec e , Vicki McKibbon Brose of Beggs , and several great nieces and nephews.

She held many jobs over the years, at the telephone company in Oklahoma City , a leather goods factory at Beggs, garment factory at Bristow, and an abstract company in Tulsa, among others.

Ruth made her final career move when she went to work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engi ne ers in 1971 .  She took advantage of the career opportunities which t he Corps afforded her through Tulsa Junior College and participated in the on- site Toastmaster Speech Club.

Ruth was a seamstress, could crochet , knit, loved working crossword puzzles, but could easily switch to a hammer, electric saw and 2x4's.  She built kitchen cabinets, learned to "tat", and could syphon gasoline from a 1950's Chevy , and could can a lot of green beans .  She loved solving a problem in a conventional or unconventional way. She liked to travel and enjoyed seeing different areas of the country.

For a time she worked as the Librarian at the Unity Church of Christianity.  She worked with the Tulsa City County Library Program as a tutor to adults learning to read. She also volunteered at Hospice of Green Country for several years.

She loved her family and her family loved her .
