Obituary

Stanley Dwight Loucks, 74, passed away surrounded by family early Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Stan was born in 1947 to Leah and Phares Loucks in McPherson, Kansas and was raised on a small farm near Windom, Kansas. After graduating from Inman High School, Stan earned a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry from Emporia State College and a master's degree in laboratory management from Central Michigan University. He completed his professional training in medical technology at the University of Kansas.

Bridging his love for people and science, Stan was a proud cofounding business owner and operator of Family Medical Lab, Inc. in Enid, Oklahoma. Stan and his business partner, classmate, and dear friend, Larry Dougan, opened Family Medical Lab, Inc. in 1971 and expanded the practice to a successful multisite business that thrived in the Enid medical and veterinary community for over 40 years.

Jovial, optimistic, and compassionate, Stan rarely met a stranger. He was eager to lend a helping hand and share jokes with anyone who would listen (or not). He found joy and humor in the little things in life. A man of many interests, Stan loved the mountains, Kansas City Chiefs, playing cards, NASCAR (fast cars in general), woodworking, reading, and caring for the family's horse farm in Enid. His adventurous spirit and stubborn streak resulted in numerous family road trip escapades.

Known by his grandchildren as "Da", Stan was a proud, loving, and supportive husband, father, and grandfather. His wife Lynn recalled, "He had the best smile of any man I've known and eyes that sparkled when he smiled." He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lynn Schoverling Loucks; daughters Alison Meeks (husband John Meeks) and Laura Loucks (husband Nick Aliffi); grandchildren Maclean Meeks, Rowan Meeks, Jackson Aliffi, and Charlotte Aliffi; siblings Irene Schrock (husband Ed Schrock) and Randall Loucks (wife Cindy Loucks), and sister-in-law RoJean Loucks.

Stan was preceded in death by his brother, Loren Loucks, and parents, Leah and Phares Loucks.

A service will be held at a later date, and we kindly ask that family and friends not send flowers at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to share your memories of Stan.
