Carol Sue Kerr Hale was born in Owasso, Oklahoma January 9, 1938, the daughter of Esther Pauline Shue and Earl I. Kerr.  She was the youngest of 6 children. She grew up in, and attended Owasso school, where she was active in sports (lettered in basketball and softball), band (won all state playing flute), and Editor of the School Annual, Band Queen her senior year the class of 1956. She attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, and the University of Arkansas, graduating from Tulsa University with a Masters Degree. She helped many young people as she tutored them.

Sue was predeceased by her parents Pauline & Earl I. Kerr, 2 brothers, Earl William Kerr and Gene Kerr; and 2 sisters, Paula Stout and Marjorie Guiling.  She is survived by a daughter Donna Houchin of Oklahoma City and son, Jimmy Hale II of Van Buren, Arkansas. a brother, Walter Don Kerr of Owasso. Sue is also survived by 4 granddaughters, Ashlee & AJ Powers, Shalee Houchin, Amanda & Matt Hager, Tiffany & Nick Maestri and many nieces and nephews.

She considered herself a Facilitator Of Lifelong Learning.
